Nice track stand dude

So as I was slowing down for some traffic lights yesterday (I was in the car) I noticed that a young guy on bike at the front of the line was doing a track stand, cool I thought. Then I noticed he was doing it one-handed, wow I thought. Then I noticed he only actually had one hand, jeez I thought. Then as we moved off I noticed that below his 3/4 length shorts were two artificial limbs, Wowzers I thought.
I felt a certain surge of emotion, of admiration, respect and such like. I felt like dropping the window and saying something "supportive" or "encouraging", but of course didn't as I thought it was bound to come across as patronising, maybe even offensive.
I know he was just a guy getting on with his thing, so why would I comment? I guess I was surprised by my own reaction to seeing him.
Would you have said anything?

I know exactly what you mean, some years back I either just beat, or was just beaten, by a guy on blades in the worksop 1/2 marathon, didn't want to sound patronising on condescending, as it happens he turned to congratulate me, we had a bit of a chat, turns out he was a paralympian, don't know his name, but filled me with admiration & total respect.

When I did the Etape a couple of years ago - an event only for the seriously masochistic, with almost 3,500m elevation over something like 110 miles - I was struggling up yet another interminable incline in the mid-afternoon, when I suddenly noticed that the guy I was passing had only one leg, t'other being a stump, barely extending past his shorts. I'd already been feeling pretty crap, but that damn near finished me off...

Richard Whitehead? I've often seen him training round here - he lives about 2 miles away.
