Are you telling us some think you look like a Russian spy? Do all Russian spies look the same?
This is all too much for me:sad:.

So many I lost count: Lurch, Match(stick), Monkey, Lanky, Stretch before it was eventually settled on Tomma or Big Tomma (to differentiate me from my older brother)

More people know me by the nickname I picked up at the age of 13 than by my real name. And most of them probably do not know what my real name is.

I only really dropped the Tomma nickname when I passed 40, I lost touch with most of the people I'd known as a youngster. Every now and again, particularly up north, it gets used. I'm not overly fussed about any of them but as I approach 50 I tend to call the people I meet by their real name Paul (not Porky), David (not Dibdob), the exception being Firmy cos I haven't got a clue what his first name is

Shaggy ... on account of looking like the Scooby Doo character when I had a 14-year old face full of bumfluff with an isolated few dark hairs on my chin:

It's also a contraction and 'y' ing of my full name. :okay:

Thinking about it, a lot of my friends have nicknames. Ozzy, The Swede, Hoff, Dad (he's no one's actual Dad), Helga, Ferret, all sorts of names with interesting stories behind them.
