This issue with full beams is a right bug bear of mine! I mean surely with full beams a driver can see from here to the moon yet only ever spot me within 30 metres or so, or not at all!

And am not exactly invisible as anyone on a Frrttc ride will know, I have three flashing front backups on my helmet, one half watt'er on constant and on Cateye on flashing and pretty much full reflectives, yet they still persist!

I find wiggling the handle bar left and right so the main beam flashing in and out of their vision helps, if not my fist, from once sheilding my eyes, turning into the obligatory w*****r wave! And then I grin!

It's annoying, to say the least, when oncoming traffic can't be bothered to dip.

What's worse, though, is those drivers who dip nice and early, and then, ten yards before they pass you, just when it'll do the most damage, switch on full beam again.

Why is it so difficult to dip at the right time? (The answer may have been provided by Andy in the quote below:smile:

Yes, that is annoying, whether you're riding or driving. The other one that annoys me is people who think that just because they're not pointing directly at you, their lights aren't dazzling you. And those people who think that they can use main beam on a motorway because their lights are below the level of the central rservation. But if I'm in a truck coming the other way, they aren't. The roof mounted spotlights come in handy for these people.

Strobe the b@stard ! Works for me if they are acting like cocks !

I'd be very wary of using a tactical strobe on a driver (unless it was an extreme situation).
