I'm sure lots of people are looking for new lights about this time of year. Can I recommend this one.Niterider Minewt USB Its a led bulb in a tiny enclosure and a separate lithium battery about the size of 10 Bensons.
The whole thing is simple design with no flash or power levels but very well made (in the usa) and every part seems great quality. The battery and light could easily fit in your pocket and it charges from a wall socket or USB. I have tried loads of lights and this miles better than any of the cateye/smart stuff most people start with. It easily lights up a pitch black trail.
I got mine from wiggle for £76, its also available from Chain Reaction and UK bike store.
I have no doubt you can pay more and get more feature or power but this works is good quality and the best I have yet found.
