No buses after 7pm

It's not just Cumbria which has an "improved" bus service bought about by privatisation.

I didn't imagine it was.
What gets me though, in the city centre there are buses every few minutes, none of them going more than a couple of miles. Surely a few less services like that would fund the ones that are really needed?
Someone was complaining it cost her a pound on the bus to get to our shop yesterday, it's a five minute walk from the town centre!!

city centre buses are about moving huge numbers of people very quickly in order to keep the place from seizing up. Ken's great strength was that he realise that new tube lines would take a decade, and the only way to keep the capital moving was to improve the bus service out of sight - which he did, to all our benefit.
