Did you do Chunal from Glossop or New Mills side. Glossop is a dead straight 10% - the New Mills side is steeper and twisty, but shorter.

Which side did you descend ?

Had you turned towards Charlesworth at the top, there is a horrendous climb of 1 in 4 - but you'd be going down it fortunately. Coming the other way isn't funny...

I did it from the Glossop side It was enough for my firs time, The weather was HORRENDUS

Well done - I assume the route was New Mills, Hazel Grove, oh and the nice drag up towards Romiley/Woodley and then home.....

It does get very windy up there. Snake next then.... There has been many a time when I've been coming back over the Snake, out of the saddle at less than 5 mph due to the wind.....pretty scarey, and coming down. I'm surprised you did 47.7 in those winds.

PS you'll be doing that circuit in half the time soon enough !

Ever thought about going clipless ?
The beauty of the compact is you know that thats the lowest gear so you have to give it some and you get a good pace and speed up hills. It's either that or walk there is no inbetween !
