- About to leave, find my tyre is flat.
- Pump it up, discover it's a puncture
- Brush a 'leaf' off the tyre to discover a 15mm thorn sticking out of it.
- Change innertube, replace.
- Can't get wheel on
- Discover I've buggered my disc pads removing the wheel
- Disc pad cover screws are rusted shut.

As one stroke of luck I do have a spare pair of disc pads. I'd bought them to replace the rather worn feeling front pads on my bike. Guess which wheel this was

The cake is a NO I SHALL NOT CALL THAT MEME.

In other news, I fixed my bike! Without having to waste shiny new brake pads!

Turns out I'd just twisted one of the disc pads out of position and I managed to twist it back into place and now it's pretty much fine (if not quite as sharp as before - may just need tweaking).

I feel like at the age of 32 I have finally become a man.

*grunt*

IF you can keep your brake pads aligned when all about you are
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself to refuse free cake
But make allowance for those that offer;

If you can tweak and not be tired by tweaking,
Or be oiled , but not deal in oil,

then Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

No cycling for me...had a stinker of a sore throat this morning and felt awful most of the day.

Now I'm sat (wasting time when I should be working...though I am waiting for a report to finish running so that I can merge it into another database - honestly!) wondering how to get home as the realisation hits me that I have to sit blocking up the road along with everyone else who sits in an oversized tin box, and dreading it.

Can't believe I used to put up with it every single day
