Copied shamelessly from farcebook.

My Mrs moved to the other bedroom in the middle of the night yesterday as I'd alledgedly been snoring. Woke up with a start as there was a creature scratching her with its claws. Dead rat hidden under the duvet - rather like the Godfather and the horse's head.

Evidence is only circumstantial but I suspect this is the culprit

My daughter is 8 but we tend not to shield her from the realities of life, not that we needed to as a couple of years ago the cat had caught, then killed some poor unfortunate fluffy creature and left it on the lawn.
Daughter sees it, partner sees her seeing it and says," Don't worry, it's just sleeping".
daughter replies," Or it's dead", then wanders over to have a good look. Curiosity satisfied she ambles off.

When my godson was about eight years old I gave him a small tank and a couple of my spare goldfish.

After watching them swimming round for a few minutes he asked him mam, "when they die can we eat them?"

a few days back prime suspect for the rat-in-the-bed incident seemed rather poorly. We were somewhat worried when she turned down "Dreamies", an irrestable bribe / treat normally, ditto tinned tuna. We now suspect she may have eaten a whole pigeon and was simply absolutley stuffed as she was right as rain in the morning. No wonder she hid the rat, no doubt saving it for next day.

My friends 10year old daughter in Barcelona wanted to bring her pet guinea pig with her on a visit to the UK. I told her it really wasn't a good idea. I advised her mother that ther only sensible way to transport the guinea pig was as a processed-meat product.
