I have not seen or heard a news programme or read a newspaper since 6.15 pm. 23 December 2010.
I'm not having a protest or anything. I'm just all newsed out, it seemed to be the same old doom and gloom.
Am I on my own, or does anyone else not bother?
I have to say I feel much better being in the dark about things.

I do know they got Bin Laden, because I saw the Discovery special. "How they got Bin Laden".

Must admit that I'm pretty much in the dark over news 'stories' these days.

Don't watch (much) TV, nor do I read papers or internet news, just hear the Norwegian news on my earphones at work when listening to the radio stations.

Have I missed much? And should I care?

I tend to avoid the The "News". Programmes on tv always seem to do so much speculating about what is happening, has just happened and/or what might/not happen as a result of what might/not have happened.

Why not wait until the facts emerge? Why do the reporters have to SHOUT at the camera man?

I've not followed the news since becoming ill with depression eighteen months ago. I just can't cope with the conflict, it really freaks me out. Same with any kind of small-p / big-P political discussion.

To stop myself being completely disconnected from the world, I glance over the headlines on the BBC website.

I increasingly avoid all newspapers and I don't watch TV as a general rule. Half the time I have no idea what's going on in the world and that suits me fine I think. The only time I might listen to news is on the car radio while driving.

I'm a news addict! Apart from rolling "oh look, there's a leaf blowing along downing street" stuff where they keep it going because they have 24 hrs to fill and nowt much is going on. Short and snappy, what's going on, no BS, that's my kind of news.

I've been avoiding the news since 2007. I made a conscious decision to just stop...and see if it really made any difference. So far, not a bit.

Don't watch it on telly, listen to it on the radio or read a paper. Can't avoid getting a general impression of whats going on just by listening to people at work/realtives etc but it's way down on what I used to take in .

Who's the Prime Minister again? (and does it really matter?)
