There is a lady in Leicester who has a number plate on her bike, seen her a couple of times.

Probably for a red vauxhaul corsa in Manchester though. :okay:

Now that Shapps has backed off, maybe he's realised that as in pretty much every other country; apart from N.Korea ( surprise, surprise ), the cost, administration and monitoring of such a scheme is way beyond any possible potential advantage.
Interesting that piggybacking on the reports, there were claims that a cyclist can 'easily exceed 20mph' . Yup maybe downhill for most of us except the minority of fit roadies who can probably maintain that for a while on reasonably level ground.

Yes 100 miles at 20 mph is easily achieved in a decent group but you’re not constantly at one speed and probably won’t even enter a 20 mph zone anyway. In another year or two the news will contain the same story then they’ll realise it can’t be done again. Then in another year or two it will happen again, & so on & so on.
Good day.

There was a figure of £20-£30 extra, every year, for every other vehicle on the road to cover the cost of such a scheme, a few years ago.

Just think of the money your saving car drivers by not having such a scheme in operation.
Maybe mention it the next time someone has a go at you for cyclists not being registered. You're saving them money.
