It's good but it's no RideLondon. Interestingly, I think the September date puts it pretty close to when the Tour of Britain London circuit finishes used to be and they seemed pretty popular.

Not really surprising.

I did the last couple but the reason for that was because no one else wanted to. Ok, I exaggerate but it was under-subscribed and anyone who wanted could get a place. Demand had really dropped off.

Before they switched routes to Essex I entered the ballot each year and never got a sniff of a place.

I really enjoyed it by the way. The closed roads and so on were a massive change from my usual riding. I used to ride in that area of Essex on my own sometimes but the closure of the Tilbury Gravesend ferry has put a stop to that.
