Since I decided I am finally taking the plunge and buying my first road bike at the end of this month, I keep seeing cycling related incidents posted by groups I follow on facebook.

There are far many more happy healthy smiling cyclists than the unfortunate few who come a cropper.

Look forward to your new-found liberty.

Nasty. That is the exception rather than the rule.
Today I rode 30 miles with no near misses, close passes (unless you count the big flying bug thing that smacked into my helmet with a bit of a noise) or anything else.
I am not sure that I'd have been riding on that road either! Looks a tad busy for bikes if traffic is going at that sort of speed. I hope that the chap was OK though.

Without wishing to tempt fate, I've been cycling daily in London for upwards of a decade and the only two accidents I've had in that time were 100% down to me. Anticipate, anticipate, anticipate. And enjoy.
