Do these actually exist?

I've got 2 jackets and they flap like mad (montane featherlite and a pearl azumi), although this could be down to my slender physique

Being a lightweight i find that if these catch any wind i get blown all over the place.

I don't mind spending some dose if they actually do the jop and also last.

Ideally close fitting but NOT boil in the bag waterproof. Also needs to be fairly packable into rear pockets

I've read mixed reviews of the Raphas and not found too many reviews on the Assos.

Down to fit and cut of the material used would be my first thought. And as fit is obviously a personal thing, any specific jacket recommendations might have to be taken in that context.

Lightweight fabrics, such as the pertex used by Montane in their Featherlite jackets, are more likely to be flappy. I know both my wife's Montane and my Rab equivalent are.

I have a Rapha softshell that doesn't flap due to being both a heavier material and closer fit. Ditto the Craft rain jacket I have. Of the two, I prefer the latter; it's packable, better breathability/ventilation.... and cheaper!

I am happy with my Altura Vapour. It fits tight and is waterproof and fairly good for breathability. Not as compact rolled up as the Montane, but will go in a pocket. Decent value at £120. I like the way it fits tight round the bottom as I am one of those rebels that ride without mudguards (most of the tme anyway - I do have bikes with guards) and it keeps the spray off. Fit is all important, onviously, but worth a try on as I think Evans have them.
