We cant decide whether to have a turkey crown or a piece of beef. Personally I will go for the beef option.

We're going to Mum's and she was trying to decide between a turkey crown and a beef joint - we had beef last year, so it might be turkey, but we'll make it a flavourful as possible.

No starter, Christmas pudding for after.

I haven't had turkey for xmas since I moved out of my parents' house and stopped having to endure the over cooked, dried out offerings.
In the past we have had chicken, beef and pork joints of varying sizes, quality and price - including one from Farmfoods which came in a silver tray complete with gravy.
We've also had an Indian banquet, Italian style supper and surf and turf.
The best of the bunch have got to be the gammon cooked in cola ala Nigella and a hunk of steak cooked quickly and sliced thinly.
I think the stir fry brussells need a mention too, the only time I have enjoyed that particular vegetable.
I have no idea what we'll be eating this year though.

My Christmas Day meal will depend on what food they are serving on my flight so I'm not expecting it to be much good lol.

For the first time in many, many years we will be eating out this Christmas day. I will still have turkey, but at least I won't be eating leftover turkey right through until New Year.......

Swan is ok (I had one many years ago when my dog ran at one and it dropped dead!) but tend to be a bit big for a domestic oven :-(

Friend of mine had one which fried itself on a power line over Romney Marsh. I say "fried", obv not actually cooked. She used an ordinary oven and said it was great.

I've cooked Canada goose, it's weirdly like beef. Not much fat on it either - all that flying n stuff.
