As well as the bike, I also use a Powersport XT3000 Airstepper, to keep my legs "mountain fit", especially with the winter mountain season looming.

There are user instructions on the XT which cover Aerobic and Anaerobic training, but I don't know which are the best for me follow.

AEROBIC - 70 to 90 steps for 12 to 24 minutes.
ANAEROBIC - 15 to 30 seconds fast, followed by 30 to 45 slower, repeated.

I currently don't follow either routine, in that I warm up for a few minutes at around 94 steps per minute, then maintain around 105 steps per minute until I average 100 steps per minute and then maintain that for anything between 50 - 70 minutes, depending on quickly I get bored.

Although I take a good album in to the garage with me, I've never gone beyond 7000 steps without a break, but usually do 4000 to 6000 in a session.

I feel that my method is still Aerobic, as my heart rate is up throughout, and although my breathing is raised, it never gets laboured. Sweat is another matter !

My question is, am I better off sticking at what I'm doing, or should I follow one of the regimes on the advice instructions.
