Anyone encounter Tyneside/ County Durham temperature inversion today. It made for spectacular views around County Durham.
Even looking down to Team Valley (bl**dy big industrial estate)from Wrekenton was really interesting. Nice to share the road with South Shields Velo members for a couple of miles here.
Possibly one of the most pleasant rides I've had for ages.

A short trundle from Sunderland west along the south side of the Wear and return on the C2C through Washington.

Foggy a lot of the way, so no views that I noticed.

Chilly - first outing for my fingered gloves and woolly hat.

Its the norm on those days when we get Fog on the Tyne.
I first encountered sunshine yesterday on the C2C right up near Waskerley Reservoir.

Wind free, it felt balmy weather, especially with it being 'flask of coffee' time of year.

i live off whitehill drive,we will have to meet up sometime n go for a ride, you get lots of roadies on leamlane rd and longbanks, the mtnbikers hit the tracks at eightonbanks.
Wardley here, I access the tracks up to Springwell etc but spend more time on the roads. I'm still pretty unfit so use the hills to get the heart going.
Be great to go for a ride, I've never really experienced the social side.I'm a proper Billy no mates when it comes to cycling.

.I'm a proper Billy no mates when it comes to cycling.

I ride with a group - not a club - most Sunday mornings.

Mostly middle-aged blokes on hybrids, a few lasses, but definitely no carbon roadies.

In fact, no roadies of any sort, we are too slow and stop too often for their liking.

Joining was one of the best cycling things I've done.

I see the group as an addition to my previous cycling, I still go out on my own when I want to, but have the option of regular rides with others.

I was watching the news about yon G20 get together in Canberra, they said it was a "draining 40 degrees"over there. I looked at the thermometer outside and it was 40 degrees here.
