I have been invited to lunch in Llandudno and intend cycling there. I don't want to hang about too much so I am going on the road bike. I have looked at a few photos of the North Wales cycleway and can't tell if it's suitable for road bike use. Is it? Or would I be better finding a different route?

I've not come across a cycleway that isn't useable by a road bike. Some might be a bit rough but it's simply a matter of slowing down to reduce the jarring.

Cycle it most weeks and its fine for road bikes. Watch out for the sand in places and dog walkers with those stupid retractable long length leads.
If you follow NCN 5 it'll take you up in the hills from Bagilt onwards, but you can stick to the coast road and pick up the NCN 5 again at Prestatyn
