I know what you mean about the money. I've been working full time for 4 months now, and reckoned if I carried on living frugally, I'd be piling on the money in the bank. Somehow, I'm not (well, not as fast asI thought). I suppose the new trike hasn't helped.... But I think I've become just a little more profligate when I go grocery shopping....

Here's a silly fact. Nosmo king, as in the title of the thread was a music hall/variety artist and took his name from the No Smoking sign that used to be in the carriages on the London Underground. True fact as told by Roy Hudd.

Where is the health improvement to, I am 18 months "fags free" now, (that woudlnt go down well in the USA !)
Have not got anymore money and dont feel any different, kinda feel cheated, as I enjoyed a smoke now and then.
Oh Well another sucker for the propaganda machine I guess, though I wont go back to them!

Nah, it's great to have some lung function for the first time since I was a child. Though I have had four gosh darned colds in five months, I used to get one or two a year when I was a smoker.

Roy Hudd's explanation is at variance with this one from Wikipedia:

Opportunity for this came about in the early 1930s in Leeds, a large town in Yorkshire, England which boasted two variety theatres, run by two rival organisations. The depression was beginning to bite, and on hearing that the rival theatre had lost its comic, he determined to double his income by doing both shows (four performances a night), travelling between the two theatres by taxi, disguising himself by blacking up.
Watson had the black-face study ready, but was stuck for a name. Then inspiration came to his aid. The scene dock doors backstage were partly open and the two halves read "No Smo" & "king". That was it. From then on, the character would be Nosmo King.

+1 I had a load more throat and chest infections (including bronchitis 3 times in 10 years) after I stopped smoking than I'd had previously.
