Hopefully he will be OK. Similar issues in my in laws. MIL doesn't smoke, or drink much, heart attack about 10 years ago, then new valve, then stroke 4 years ago. Disabled down one side, had a fall a month ago, broke ankle and wrist on her bad side. Still in hospital. Tough old boot, 77 now.

FIL has been a long Time heavy smoker, and this has affected the whole family, especially MIL. He was seriously ill about two years ago with lung issues, hospital for months and oxygen. Back on the fags now...

Terrible things fags. I'd kill my two if they ever took it up.

Chin up. He will be getting meds and checks that will help keep him here for a long time.

Fingers crossed CP

Sorry to read your bad news, CP.

Update: A day later he's sitting up and chatting, but we're told any heart attack causes damage, and the extent will only be known with tests...

That's a good sign - as you say, any heart attack causes damage, but this suggests that it's not too severe. My Mum had a heart attack sixteen years ago and she's never looked back, so rest assured that the NHS and everyone in it know what they're doing. I hope your Dad makes a good recovery.
