Just been told that my Mum is in Hospital following a stroke . Her front door was kicked in to get to her .
All i know is shes talking but confused and going for scans .

I'm sorry to hear this, but it is a good sign that she is talking already. You've probably already been told that lots of people make very good recoveries from strokes, and so long as she gets into specialist treatment ASAP, I wouldn't be surprised if in a couple of years you are unable to detect any difference in her from how she was before.

My father in law had a stroke a couple or 3 years ago, and the only noticeable long term effect is that he is less of a cantankerous old bastard than he was, and he sleeps more during the day. It was a pretty serious stroke which left him unable to speak, use his left side at all, and he couldn't walk for months.

Thanks for the well wishes .
Just left mum as she's fallen asleep and sat outside the hospital . Still early days but she's talking and wants to go home .
It seems the problem started when she woke up with very bad sight in her right eye . She had it looked at by the hospital and they sent her home . She called her friend when she got home and her friend sent her husband straight round to check as my mum was slurring her speech so they got to her pretty quick .
