....and you think that's bad
Yesterday I had court notice from a solicitor to say that I'm being sued for £1344 for hitting a car in a car park, both insurance company’s state the it was a 50/50 accident, but she disagrees and she now saying it was my fault.
Today I found my neighbour dead at his home – can this year get any better for me.

Oh dear, surely it has to get better from here?

I stayed in last night, I was too hung over after going to see Sham 69 at a pub in Birmingham the night before. It was like going back in time 30 years. Not only was it only a fiver in but the place was full of punks and skinheads in 1970's style clothing.

Fortunately the skinheads had now learned how to behave themselves, they didn't start fights like they used to at Sham gigs. The only flashpoint was when somebody thought one of them was giving a nazi salute - he was just holding up a mobile phone camera!

I've been decorating and had removed a radiator to wall paper behind it. Removing the radiator had resulted in the pressur in the heating circuit to drop so I raised it to it's operating level. This was two days ago and I was happy decorating at a leisurely pace as kneeling is still uncomfortable after my bout of cellulitis.

This afternoon, my wife asked if it was normal for the pressure in the heating circuit to be at four bar as it's been like that for two days.

I spring into action and take a bucket to catch surplus water when I open the thermostatic valve in the room that being decorated. It did the job but I could totally shut down the valve afterwards and a bucket full and several large bath towels full of water later accompanied by an ingress of water in the room downstairs, I managed to decorate the bay window that houses the radiator, re-attach the radiator and step back to admire the work. It looks good.

I was so stimulated by this victory that I got a bike out of the garage and went for an exploratory pootle on it this evening. My first bike ride in three months.

I feel good.

One of my ex-pupils is in an identical state having attended the same gig. I'm rather jealous - of the gig not the hangover.

Turned out neither he nor his wife had so much as a tyre lever between them, let alone a spare inner tube. .

It was a shame they had to learn the hard way and you had to get wet trying to assist.Still at least the ride was local it could have been much worse. Hopefully next time they will have a new set of tyre levers each and some appropriate inner tubes along with them.

Surprisingly the thing I have encountered most is people with new expensive bikes with deep rimmed wheels who haven't yet twigged that they will need inner tubes with long stem valves otherwise there isn't enough valve sticking out to fix the pump onto! I've seen at least 3 cases of that!

We had a power cut early in the morning. I got up to find my little fish gasping for air at the top of the tank. The filter was on but the plunger was down. Lost one rummy nosed tetra. Now the ammonia is at 0.25 and nitrite is 0.25, so think I have lost some of the bacteria.

Have got an air stone in the tank which seems to be helping the fish. Hopefully I will get the cycle working again.
