My family looking at me strange after I showered my bike wheels.

I got a puncture on Friday which wrote off my rear tyre so figured it was time to upgrade front and back to Conti 4000S II's. I did a lot of reading before hand and these we're said to wear slower than 4 seasons and roll fast.

I also de-stickered the wheels a few weeks back and had some sticky residue left over.

I was on an audax with a youngish guy who had one of those integral hub gear thingies and a plastic belt chain. He told me he takes the whole bike in the shower with him to clean it.

Sounds more like something for one of those speciality interest websites to me

I can't remember the last time I had a bath, but next time I do I may consider it.

I had a really wet muddy day and got to hotel, where by chance I was given a "disabled access room"

Massive walk in shower.............ideal for cleaning the bike.

Whilst hotel soap is not that brilliant as a bike degrunger, the bike does smell nice the following day!
