DCR Wheels Ian - your wheels did give me the ideaWell I guess my build gave you the idea.
I have done just under 200 miles on a couple of rides (one in rain) on the hubs and they seem to be very good at that spinning lark. They have easy maintainable cartridge bearings so have no worries.
Ask me again in a year for my opinion
Who is the wheel builder?
DCR Wheels Ian - your wheels did give me the idea
but not sure whether to go the velocity a23's or the h and sons archetype
think i will be going down the black route - the wheels will be going on my defy 4 - so it's got black saddle, bar tape and then the hubs tooNice one, you wont be disappointed with his service.
Oh yes, the NC Hubs do look very nice in silver too...
yeh i'm going to go with the velocities - like i said just hope its a sufficient upgrade over the standard giant wheelsI would go with the Velocity vs the H+Son if using rim brakes because the H+Son will start to look grubby really quick. 1st wet ride and the black anodizing will be scrubbed off in an uneven fashion. the Velocity don't have an anodized braking surface, so will remain pretty much as aesthetically pleasing as they are brand new.
Has anybody used these - what are they like - do they spin well etc
i have been offered these on handbuilt velocity a23's and would like a real time review of them before saying yes/no
any other hubs you suggest??
they will be shod with conti race tubes and gp 4 seasonsMy A23 has a very plush ride due to the wider profile. They should be lighter, smoother, as well as more durable and serviceable than your current wheelset. Add some good tyres and tubes and they should fly. Enjoy.
