There'd never be an acceptable justification for running into a pedestrian while riding a bike even with a head-cam... we'd have to slow down and if necessary stop which then puts us in potential danger depending on the circumstances- Catch 22.
I'll say it 25mph on a shared use path is a lot too fast. However standing there and daring you to ride into him is a Darwin Award tactic, don't worry he'll not live to breed.
"I was returning home after a ride down a steepish, fast but narrow lane", i.e. a public highway, not a shared use path. She was able to slow down in the distance she could see.
