Now there a surprise (not ;-) )

I know its Australia but this piece of research carried out for a PhD is hardly surprising, in colisions involving a bike and a car, nearly 9 out of 10 times its the drivers fault. The number they base on is pretty low to, just 54 incidents (or maybe thats a good thing for the parties invoved ;-0 )

The Australian study seems more reliable as they have used actual video footage to determine who was at fault, unlike the UK study that basically used coroner/police reports/opinions.

So, how many collisions were there ?

"The number they base on is pretty low to, just 54 incidents "

Yes, I thought that people hadn't read it properly.
The number of collisions was 2
The number of near-collisions was 6

Presumably the number of not-even-near-collisions was 46.

So NOT "88% of collisions are the driver's fault"

Better reporting please.

I must admit when I read 54 I didn't read much further but there was just 8 actual events (and of them 2 was only actual, actual), how can they state 88% !
