A work friend has a quarter scale 'model' of a light aeroplane [something specific but I can't remember what] which has been used in films. How he controls it from the ground is incredible.

Very nice. I used to run a model shop in the UK. Although we didn't sell turbines. They are really very affordable now and you could probably get started with about £1500, maybe less, excluding the radio gear. Deltas are very easy to fly, which is essentially what the SR71 is.

The full size was made by Lockheed at their "Skunk Works". Aircraft made to be the best regardless of cost. Something that Specialized picked up on for their S Works range. The SR71 airframe was made entirely of titanium.

High?
If you can see it you can fly it, the radio has about a Kilometer or more range I think.
As for speed, I'll ask him when I see him.
