As long as I breathe, I attack.
Coming home today in the car after picking up Mrs CK and MIL from the train station i saw a taxi driver in the other lane swigging from a small spirits bottle.
Pity i did not see the reg as i was to shocked at what i saw.

If you know the firm, what he looks like, time of day and location etc ...then still consider reporting it.

Is it possible that it was either a small bottle that looked like a spirits bottle, or a small spirits bottle containing water? The latter would be rather stupid for the attention it would get but would be better than the initial assumption that it was booze.

Certainly worth reporting suspicion though..

Not saying you didn't see correctly, I once met someone who had used a communally owned van, he got out clutching a 3/4 empty 2 litre bottle of dry cider and 2 cans of white lightning fell out of the footwell step. Needless to say he never got anywhere near that van again

Some are independent yes, but that's why councils have public carriage offices.
But the hardship caused by going over the 9 point limit would mean he'd not be able to support himself, or his family. So it'll not be considered.

I used to drive hacks in Sunderland back in the 80's.
There were pubs we regularly serviced and and I often saw one of the owners I used to drive for out with his wife and pretty much well drink then driving the 10 miles home in his cab.

Unless in an accident, the police tended to leave cabbies alone, so they often think they can get away with anything

Round here they tend to dictate to the councils Licensing Unit.

As someone who drives a Taxi, don't tar everyone with the same brush. For a start you "thought you saw someone drinking alcohol".If you were close enough to see him drinking from a bottle,I'm surprised you couldn't get the make of vehicle, licence plate, taxi plate ?
