My experience in women's changing rooms is that other people really stare at you if you bare too much flesh!

Lol! That just shows how different women really are!

If I did that in the men's changing room of my local gym (not that I would), I can guarantee that within a couple of minutes someone would ask me, "Oi! Mate! Whatchoolookinat? Is you a poof or summink?".

Doesn't this just tell us a lot about women's self-image and self-confidence generally?

I blame all those glossy magazines.

Not quite the repsonse you'd get in a women's changing room but its happened to me more than once in the shower that someone walks past whilst staring at my crotch! I don't get it!

It's a cultural thing. Germans are the best/worst. Was once on business in Dusseldoef and used the hotels sauna- was sat there wrapped in my towel not knowing whether to let it all hang out and after a few minutes 3 stark naked german women walked in and starting chatting. Not sure what they were saying but probabaly something like " whats with the english guy in a towel."

But yes- perfectly natural and not sexy- particluarly as they were all 60+

Yes think us brits are a bit prudish

On the other hand, once had a business meeting with a (gay male) transport designer who tends to wear stretch shorts and vests and he sat throughout the meeting with a clearly obvious erection. Not sure if it was because I was there or not, but I was really annoyed by that and was just grateful there were other people in the meeting room.

I think that women do have more inhibitions to men about the naked form. When I used to go to the gym I found that I could walk around the men's changing room naked quite freely, and no one batted an eye.

Was a completely different story when I tried that in the women's changing room however...

Some men do seem to have hang ups about it. At my last job we had two shower cubicles adjoining a small change room. I used to go cycling with two of my work mates at lunch time, and they both seemed reluctant to be seen naked. One of them refused to take a shower until he could have the room to himself. The strange thing was that they were both confident, well-adjusted men.

I think it all depends on how you have been brought up, when I was a child nudity was a normal thing at home and didn’t think nothing of it, but when I went to secondary school I saw boys trying to hide behind a towel in the changing rooms and found this quite strange

I think perhaps that men who think that they are under-endowed may have the biggest problem with being nude in front of other men!

When I was a teenager I was convinced that my willy was tiny compared to other guys and so I would never allow it to been seen by anyone!

Later, I discovered that it is a perfectly normal size and nowadays I don't really care!

Mrs CP plays hockey, and the girls sometimes change tops on the touchline afterwards - regardless of whether I am there or not.

I am too much of a gentleman to stare, so I turn my back on them. It must be non-threatening to them because they've been doing it for the last 21 years that I have watched Mrs CP play.

How much of that staring is down to how rarely they see this bits, on another woman, in an everyday situation? If things shifted more towards the German attitude then you'd know that either she was letching or you looked weird down there:biggrin:

I remember being in the South of France, many years ago, and sharing a section of beach with a large group of young Germans. From behind my sunglasses I thought my young dreams had been answered. Turned out they were a dance troop and we saw them performing at the local beer fest.

+1 - has happened to me too.

I usually defuse the situation by winking at them and blowing a kiss.

A couple of years ago, the couple in the next flat had an almighty row, and he chucked her out onto the landing and lock the door. Hearing her screaming I went to investigate and found that she was half naked - the bottom half. I have to admit, it was the first Brazilian I'd seen, and it sort of fascinated me...

I spent the morning trying to sort her out, and stop him throwing her stuff out of the window. A fall from two floors up does not do a sewing machine much good...

Actually, i think looking at the crotch might be some subconscious curiosity or natural reaction. When i first started wearing lycras for my commute i was aware that peoples eyes (mainly the girls) were wandering when i went into the office to grab my things from my desk drawer. It seemed to stop after a few weeks though.
