Trying to find the dvla/rac website to check number plate details but can't find it. Anyone know?

Is it that you want to check that the plate matches what type of car it is? If so then this site - you type in the plate no and it will tell you the make etc:

but won't tell you if they are insured or details like that.

I'm guessing that you won't find what you're after. Can you imagine the sort of vigilante bullshit that would go on if such a facility did exist.

Two available. The first will give you the vehicle type, the second will give details such as when the VED is due, engine size, that kind of thing.

if you tick a box to say it's your car....and you wouldn't be checking someone elses i guess? then askmid will confirm that you're insured.
