I have had the NuVinci IGH for about a year now, ridden about 2,000 miles on it with no problems.

It has been fitted to my Trek Super Commuter 9+ ebike.

Took a bit of a plunge into this hub system, as there is the same model of ebike with convention derailleur gears.

Apart from rotating the chain at 1,000 miles ( I always use two chains to minimise any wear),and the occasional chain tensioning, the system has worked flawlessly.

It is very nice to simply micro adjust the gearing, as opposed to the bigger incremental gear change of other gear systems.

Easy to keep clean simple chain line, cheap chains.

Definitely more drag than say a Rohloff system, and quite a bit heavy.

Suits an ebike really well.

Any other NuVinci hub experiences?

Not come across them. Is this the CVT hub gear?

I think the maker will tell you there's little or no extra drag, although they would say that.

I've tried one and thought it dragged a bit, although it's so different to an ordinary hub I'd need to do a few long rides to make a firm judgment.

The range - 380% in the latest version - is not huge.

Range is ok on ebike though.

I live in South Wales, never felt that I needed a lower gear, could have done with a higher gear though.
