I recently bought a ticket for Rush for £120. Sticks in the craw a little. But to see one of the best bands on the planet on which maybe their last tour, I'll suck it up.

I saw Heaton last year at a stadium gig that had two decent support bands (Lightening Seeds/Shed 7) so three full bands that all needed paying plus the cost of venue, staff blah blah blah ... he does prove it 'can' be done, but he is a strong socialist and he's clear that he's made more than enough money already. I mean, fair play to him. Exception, rather than the rule though. And, he's popular, but no way would he have the demand to charge top prices. He has toured consistently through his career, and no one is really begging to see a Housemartins or B South reformation.

It’s so tricky, because if a band limits ticket prices, the cheap tickets often end up on secondary sales websites at inflated costs, which show a demand is there for tickets.
So a band with high demand knows they can sell expensive tickets and fans will buy them.
The secondary ticket market really is a problem and real fans are the ones paying the price. As touts wouldn’t buy tickets if they didn’t think they could make a profit.
