How the f does he start, and more worryingly, how the f does he stop !!!!!!

ETA: just been playing around on rabbit and the closest I can get to 137 inches is running a 58T ring with an 11T sprocket

Don't know how he's so thin though, I'd imagine someone that rode a 137" gear brakeless round Scotland to have legs like tree trunks.
