Saw some poorly lit cyclists around 4:30 yesterday. Oddest was one on Forest Road in Walthamstow, nice bright flashing red light. Problem was that was on the front and from what I noticed as I passed him was he didn't have anything on the rear. Still better than the ninja behind him, no lights at all and dark clothing.
Worst was the cars, many with only one light and several on side lights only. I was driving and other cars were getting much too near to me when we stopped in traffic. If it is icy and on a hill, don't stop 2 feet behind me. If we are going up, I might slip back before a get enough grip and if we are going down hill, you might not be able to stop.

You were in a car then?

What are the road conditions like over there?

I haven't been out yet.

There's a guy round here on a BSO has a red led on the front
I guess they're either as thick as pigsh.., or maybe just had a red light..and just thought, that'll do.
He's probably riding round feeling superior over the guys with no lights at all.

It was a nice light as well, brightest red light I have seen in a while. Shame someone will rear end him soon.

Yes I was in a car. Popped round my father's. It took me about 3 hours to do the 20 miles home (Tottenham to Cranham). I have done that on the bike in half the time. There were notices on the North Circ about a bus accident on the A12/North Street junction so I went via Chigwell from Woodford.
There is a very short road works and traffic lights on Manor Road. I got through and then watched 3 cars jump the red going the other way. None of them could claim that it dangerous for them to stop.

There's a bloke rides on the lanes around Ledbury with no lights at all. I "saw" him last night - well, I saw a car pulling out to overtake something - and he's scarcely visible at all until you're far too close to him. He's going to get flattened one of these days and I for one won't be at all surprised. What is it with these idiots?

I've now stopped three or four cyclists with red lights too the front...all of them have been Eastern Europeans...As it is only a small number and there is a large population of EE's in Peterborough it could be a coincidence ?

Probably put it on back to front.
