well after having so much time off the bike (sept-april) with my problem with my eye`s I was sure that my jogle this year for my 60th was not going to work out , but my cycling buddy seems to have loads of faith in my ability to reach lands end
so we are going to go for it ..train tickets arrived this morning(bike tickets also):okay: got the first 3 nights booked then just going to see how it pans out  ...and hoping the weather gets it act together :sun::sun::sun:

day 1 http://cycle.travel/map/journey/11334
day 2 http://cycle.travel/map/journey/11335
day 3 http://cycle.travel/map/journey/12607

going with saddle bag+bar bag this time as I think if the panniers were to be used I will just fill them with stuff that would be surplus to my needs  ... and needing to travel as light as poss this trip

Good luck! Weather forecast's looking good for next week (ish).

Reminds me of the old joke:

Scotland has two seasons. Winter
and August.

Hope the eyes are much better, but they will be a good excuse to shelter behind your mate in a head wind.

I'm in Bettyhill today too, at Farr Bay Inn, just one day left to JoG. We started in Inverness so only really a short ride.

Don't forget to have a pint at the Crask Inn, might be a bit early in the day mind as it's only 24miles (or 30 via Tongue/NCN1 route)

aborted the ride ..my body has had enough  after the first six days ..I was poss a little naïve thinking that all of that time off the bike due to my eye problems it would still be ok if we started steadily.. GOT THAT WRONG  we live and learn, still its not life or death it will always be there should I attempt an other go at it
