Off road route for 3/4 days in the North of England

Me and two friends are looking to do a short sponsored ride at the end of next month, stopping in B&Bs and the like along the way. We are not that fit so were looking to do appx 30-50 miles per day. We'd prefer to go somewhere without too much need to cycle on roads especially not busy ones. We are based in Sheffield but quite happy to get the train one way and cycle back here or get the train back at the other end. Are there any good routes you knowledgable people can suggest? We are quite flexible so these criteria are not set in stone. Thanks in advance.

Why not do the coast to coast? It doesn't exactly fit your criteria but it suits your time scale.

Or the Hadrians cycleway. Its a little longer but easier than the c2c at 172 miles, which over 4 days is 43 mile per day. Or you could make it a little shorter and start in Whitehaven or Workington.

Or the Reivers route, again its longer and as far as difficulty is concerned I would rate it between the c2c and Hadrians.

mtl and pennine bridleway. most of it is open and rideable. redbikes knows more tho. he's done it all.
