Anyone on here that drives should acknowledge that it may be them in court one day.
Quite !

Having not been on the other side of the fence, I don't know why it's the norm, but every driving case I've taken part in (which isn't that many tbh, probably about three or four) the driver has represented themselves and lost.
Well, I got professional representation....and lost because the barrister was a twunt who didn't cross-examine the copper on some glaring inconsistencies in his evidence.

Still, silver lining: it was partly the realization that I might lose my licence for a while, that got me back into cycling.

If I were to be knocked off my bike by a car driver, I would collect some form of DNA from their body to provide positive proof of identity.
Thought did cross my mind & having a further sample seemed to be on the drivers mind!
He wasn't worth it though.

Related to earnings, and if you plead guilty. This guy went for a second trial. Flaming waste of time. Cost my employer more than the fine in lost salary for just me to be there. At least it adds to the Civil Case evidence.

I might be wrong Fossy but can't witnesses or employers of witnesses who allow employees to attend court to give evidence claim lost wages or a fixed amount that might be derisory? If there is a civil action for compensation then this would be the time to make a claim against this idiot.
