I would advise against it, besides is it such an inconvenience to use a hand pump for 'a couple of days'?

Best bet would be to contact your airline, as they will have their own policy.

Most pressurised containers, with the exception of personal care / toiletary items, are prohibted on aircraft AFAIK.

Many airlines allow up to 4 x 28g CO2 canisters, some don't, which is why you need to contact your carrier for confirmation.

Last time I hired a bike on a Greek islands (Skiathos) I had it fail on me due to a maladjusted RD flinging the chain into the spoke. I rang the phone number they gave me and 10 minutes later a car turned up with another bike in the back for me.

Apparently they'd have done the same for a puncture i.e a replacement bike or wheel. It was a bit like having my own service car with me :-) Check what assistance the bike hire shop in Kos gives.

You will now - I'd save the innertubes for tea strainers if I were you.
