Just to get me in the mood, and make you lot all jealous, I thought I'd let you know that Mrs Uncle Phil (aka Tinytwin) and I are off to do some cycling in South Africa next week.
We went once before a couple of years ago, and cycled through the Overberg from Stellenbosch to to Barrydale and back. Hot, but nice. It was a surreal experience sitting sipping wine at an outdoor table at a restaurant on a warm evening, cicadas chirping away, while the owner regaled us with horror stories about what the weather was doing in Britain according to CNN: blizzards featured. And then we had pizza and potjiekos...
This time we're aiming to go a bit further - maybe all the way along to Port Elizabeth - and get back on the Baz Bus.
Oh, and we'll spend a couple of days with the in-laws as well. It's rough, but we have to go!
There'll be photos, and probably a CrazyGuy write-up when we get back. See you in February!
