Well nearly. Full brake grab, speed wobble and exfoliation of my left arm by a hedge.

The countryside and lanes around Winchester are generally a delight to the cyclist, where the only natural hazards are suicidal bunnies, more recently hares, the odd deer and on one occasion a dive-bombing owl......
( ).

So the large brown teddy that lurked in the dappled shade of a country lane was not on my radar until it was too late. After stopping I went back to move the teddy and suffered a bit of a dilemma - what to do with it?

(a) There are only one or two houses nearly. Knock on a few doors to see if a child has dropped it.
(b) Leave the teddy where it is. A parent is sure to come searching for their child's teddy.
(c) Kids need to learn to be more careful. Mount the teddy's dismembered head on a spike and display it outside the reception class of the local infants.

What would you do.......?

I do not think I could bear to leave him at the roadside all alone. I would paws and think what to do.

Write a note in permanent marker and fix it to the hedge telling the bereft child where his/her teddy is.
[When she was 3 MissA_T had a favourite small teddy which she carried everywhere. She dropped it somewhere in Tescos... she was inconsolable at the check-out so they put a call out on the tannoy and within five minutes it was found under one of the chiller cabinets... we then bought a couple of identical substitutes as back-up.]
