Oh my giddy aunt... (terrible cycling accessories)

I do think rear lights should be bigger. They are bright but some are basically a pin-prick of light. I have never really been that happy with the B&M Seculite mudguard light I have on one of my bikes for this reason.

Do they do them in red? If so I'd have one to pretend to be a Cylon.

I find helmet lights pretty much essential on my busy London commute due to the high density of traffic blocking my light at handle-bar height.

Can your bike setup take one of these? I have the brake light version and although it's only fitted with two LEDs, the clever lens arrangement gives it a much wider surface of light than you'd think.

I don't have a rack to mount it to. The rack mounted ones are pretty good, I have one on another bike but I would like a mudguard or seatstay mounted one with a decent surface area. The old incandescent mudguard mounted Soubitez lamp on my 3 speed utility bike is not as bright overall as the newer LED Seculite but it has a great big red area when lit which makes it more visible to my eyes in real life conditions.

Whereas if I were using a helmet light as my main/only light (as suggested by the inventor of this here helmet wot we're discussing), I would have to keep my head tilted downwards along the lanes so I could see potholes. Then I would not be able to see forwards so well...

There is a way round that problem...

Good solution but my Carradice bag would cover it.

Over the last 40 years car lights have got much brighter at the front and much bigger all round. There are many more other lights around to get lost amongst.
Although bilke lights have changed they seem to have gone towards better battery life rather than really upping the size and impact from the light.
If we don't simply keep pace with other road users lights then we risk not being noticed.

I am not impressed with any bike lights I see around.
