Well I'm in for it when the wife finds out went to pick up my trusty steed from it's service and on display they have a set I'd di2 (ultegra) only went and looked at it
Then the sneaky man in the bike shop went and took my order with out saying a word !!!! Just have to wait for the release date of stock to be delivered!!!!! And hope she can't see any difference

that's what my husband does ... the thing is , we lead you to believe we dont notice, but in reality we do damn well know what you are up to and how recklessly you spent money that could have gone towards a nice pair of heels or handbag for us. It's all being logged....

Funny old life isn't it.

My gf knows all about all the bike bits I buy and throughly approves!

My wife changed from a normal wife to a keen cyclist

Now she has access and knowledge to all sorts of things such as how much things really cost

No more sneaking upgrades or adding bits as she now notices....

Worst of all she expects similar upgrades on her bikes and even suggests upgrades that she wants!

You need a variant of the wardrobe trick for new clothes/shoes which needs patience but works. You buy the stuff but hide it away in the garage for six months before you fit it. Then when asked whether you've got something new on the bike you can honestly that "What? That? No, I've had that for ages"
