Will give it a charge tonight - haven't told him yet !
A friend of mine did exactly the same as you with her son's new all singing all dancing phone. She was going to appologise and replace it but then she had a thought.

She told him it is his own fault for leaving it in his pocket and then putting his trousers in the wash basket. If he was old enough to have a phone then he was old enough to check his own pockets before putting stuff in the wash.

He appologised and saved up for his own replacement.

Well I went through the it was in your pants...etc..... It's working, got 3 lights out on the keypad (one side) but a bit more drying might fix it.

The cardboard mobiles are best wiped with a cloth. Only the plastic ones are OK to wash

If it's a dirt cheap phone then you've probably killed it but the more expensive phones tend to survive better when it comes to surviving interactions with water.

Do they? Mine didn't get submerged in water but got water damage

I washed my son's nice new Sony Ericsson. Dried it out for a few days but the camera refused to work. Put it through as a warranty claim but it came back with a high-res photo of the circuit board attached to the envelope with WATER DAMAGE in big letters across it. Still got quite a bit for it from one of those phone recyclers.

see above. same thing

I washed my Ipod last summer

It had only been in the machine a couple of minutes before I realised in horror what I had done. I got it out straight away but it was too late to save it

Its a mistake you only make once I think...:stop:
