Not a hotel but stopped in a Park Holidays shack chalet in Devon last year. Only allow dogs to stay in their 'bronze' class.

Absolutely minging to the point where we preferred to sleep in the car. YUK and never again.

Only bad one I've stayed in was in Edinburgh - just outside the city. Old Victorian Terrace - looked great outside. Inside was a hole. Reception was a little serving hatch, the rooms were crap, walls paper thin. We could actually have a conversation through the walls without shouting. Even told my mate in another room to cut the singing in the shower.

Oh, and in the morning, the usual noises of a couple 'entertaining themselves' - PS the guy needed a slap for bringing his other half to a dump like that.

No never.......................

If the accomodation etc. is not what expected, then I complain and get moved, upgraded or whatever.

NEVER just accept things, you have a right to get what you pay for.

Got any nice memories of 'faulty tours', or hapless hoteliery?
I was in a group of four who went to a hotel for lunch, but there were several hitches regarding seating, meal ordering etc. Eventually we were all seated and eating when the hotelier came along with an apology and a bottle of wine and glasses to compensate for our earlier troubles. He then pulled a chair in to the table, joined in the conversation and helped us drink the wine!

Stayed in a caravan in Overstrand, Norfolk once. It was worse than sleeping in a cardboard box under a railway arch. I still feel chilled to the bones thinking about it now. I hope the cliffs have eroded enough for the place to have fallen into the sea.
