I did the same, old mountain bike out, walked bike to the main ride, nice clear ride to the station, where the train was cancelled.

Good call. Some very slippery roads around your neck of the woods on Sunday (other side of the Park from the main road). Locked up when applying the brakes at walking pace in my car. However main roads were perfectly fine, if a little damp.

Good ride in, but got no comments on my new front lighting system. Photos to follow later, hopefully..

indeed, I was in the hall until midnight doing my last job of a busy weekend, new rear pads (down to the metal), new front brake cable (snapped last Wed), cleaned rear rims (metal dust from aforementioned pads), general wipe with damp cloth and then patched the spare tube (no fancy doing it outdoors in this weather)

and a tyre inflate and mickle with finish line wet before setting off this morning

push to the main road and thereafter a brilliant ride with the bike feeling very good, all proper roads though

Its times like this that i really wish I had a shorter commute...I find it tough convincing myself to "brave" the burb's, outer london and then the centre of town when the snow and ice is on the ground.....i am sure i would come unstuck somewhere along the way.

I envy you being able to ride for 15 mins or so, that would set me up perfectly for the day.

Sigh.....
