"Londoners, stop being so rude and unfriendly, says think tank: call for a 'civility code' to help make London a nicer place to live."

The influential Centre for London think tank wants to reverse the reputation Londoners have, calling for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to treat each other with greater respect.

So, we've known it for a long time, but now it's official - even Londoners think they're unfriendly and rude...

Although the report does seem to stop short of suggesting that they make eye contact / talk to each other on the Tube.

What makes you think us Londoners are unfriendly, you bunch of farking norvern monkeys. ;)

Influential? Never heard of them and they d9nt seem to have been around for that long...
My reaction was "They are pretty influential with Gideon, getting him to describe them as influential". Then I had another look at the OP and it didn't mention the Evening Standard. Hovered my mouse, and sure enough, that's what it is.

Where did I learn to recognise the Standard in 2 sentences? I don't think I've read it since Osborne took over.

London is similar to most other large cities. We're a friendly bunch but just not to people we don't know when moving about.

If I'm on the tube I won't have a chat but I won't be rude.

People mistakenly take our desire to keep to oneself as rudeness. That's your problem not ours.

Sometimes when on the bike I won't say hi to other cyclists. I should start a thread about that.

Dont you have to be born within the sound of bow bells to be a cockney? So not all Londoners born there are cockneys.

Due to noise pollution its not possible to be born a cockerney any more, unless your mum drops you in the street outside.
