Anyway, I understand that there are more strong winds due early 2014 whereas I really want snow. Am hoping to get out of doing a trip dahn sarf and I need it to be grim oop north for a few days.

Same here, it's been windy for at least a week and the forecast isn't improving any. I just want it to snow!

I had a tailwind all the way home this evening. It was bizarre (and great fun)

same here - great fun (to a point - that point being the time I had to head directly into it just at the point where the torrential rain arrived). Knocked 20 mins off my usual time to get home from parents - shame it was such hard work to get there in the first place .
