During the annual Doors Open Day in Edinburgh, we ventured into the RCAHMS today - that's the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland (quite a mouthful!).

Some brilliant stuff there, free access and lots of online resources.

There were two old photos of bikes on display , you can zoom in on the photos and download (copyright RCAHMS)

I like that one - the fact that there are some pennies, and some safeties - it'd be like a ride today with some uprights and some recumbents, or some bang up to date racing bikes and a couple of 1940's steel sit-up-and-begs....

Those are some seriously sexy looking men.

Especially the guy reclining on the grass at the bottom of the shot. Oh yeah.

In the words of The Mighty Boosh: You've gone wrong, mate.

Love the look and feel those old glass plates give. Having playing with that type of camera I can really appreciate how hard it is to capture those kinds of pictures. :becool:
