I've just bought a bass guitar.

Good for you. I've played bass in a couple of bands as well as guitar over the years. Bass isn't necessarily associated with music heroes in the same way as guitar but I find it a very satisfying instrument to play nevertheless plus it's easier to play after a few beers as well! My bass is a German made Warwick Corvette 4-string that I've owned since around 2000 and for live work I put it through a 300 watt Trace Elliot combo amp. Other bass and amplifier combinations are of course available
