Hi folks

I'm wondering if anyone on here could spare some time to help with some knowledge on this frame? I'm mostly concerned about compatibility with modern components, I know that pug used some odd seat post sizes and what about the bottom bracket? Would that also be some weird size? I basically don't want to spend years searching obscure parts to kit it out. So if any one recognises it and has any info at all would be really appreciated.

@chriswoody these 2 websites are good for info on Pugs , looking at your pics it shows a bottom bracket so as long as they unscrew ok then you are laughing just clean and re grease

Great looking frame and some great sites from @biggs682 for you there Chris, if it's old and made of steel then biggs is da man :becool:

The seatpost will most likely be 24mm and they are a bitch to find, and properly expensive if and when you do. There are other options, I think Decathlon do a slightly smaller one with a shim that can be made to work.

The BB should be French threaded, and whilst not used anymore you can still get them. A quick mooch has found THIS US site, but that may prove costly.

Another option could be to have the BB re-cut with English threads. I'm not sure how easy/possible this would be TBH, and it may prove more costly than importing a French BB, but if it can be done in the long run it will make BB fettling an absolute doddle and cheap as chips

Thanks a lot guys.

biggs682 Those links were really interesting, it looks to be late 70's very early eighties. Sadly then it will have components that will be a pig to find. Strangely enough there is an online bike shop here in Germany that has a seat post to fit for 12 Euros, but the bottom bracket is another story all together.

I'm just not too keen on taking something like that on, shame really as it's a really nice frame. Hopefully it will go to someone who can invest the time and energy into making something nice from it.

Thanks again much appreciated
