Old is old, it is just the memory that makes them better, either that or a reluctance to change after all us cyclist do not like spending money.

Some things don't alter with age. I still use cast iron pans that I bought in 1977. New ones are just as heavy.

I do however still take the carpets outside in the spring and give them a good beating - the exercise keeps me trim.

The mangle does a great job at removing excess water and removing wrinkles in my shirts at the same time - no need to iron them and they are ready to wear once they've totally dried four days later.

I use the time waiting for the hob kettle to boil to do something productive like mowing the lawn.

I will give you the pans, but for some lighter one's maybe better.

Heavy pans retain the heat incredibly well and are far more efficient. I have a large set of copper pans that would have cost hundreds of pounds in the UK but cost me about £100 in a French supermarket about 20 years ago and which I fully expect to out-live me.

I'm still using an old mouse with a rubber ball in it. It only needs cleaning every day or two.
Halogen lights on the bike. They're amazing... so bright for the first ten minutes, then I get a good hour before the 6 D size batteries run out.
CRT monitors are the best.... not only do they fill half the room (less to hoover), they heat it to... and put my back out when I move them.
ok I'm not... some old tech really was pants.

Up until maybe 5 years ago, we had and used regularly a collander made from that new fangled plastic stuff...in 1958.
Mum gave it us years ago, it was theirs from the RAF and had 1958 and the crows foot stamped into the base.
